Submit your audition tape for The AF Factor, an evening of dancing, singing, comedy, acrobatics and more

Are you an architect with a secret talent? Then your chance to show the world has finally arrived.

Marking the halfway point of the 100 Day Studio on June 18th, the Architecture Foundation will host The AF Factor, an evening of dancing, singing, comedy, acrobatics, magic, drag performance and more. This is an open call to submit an audition tape (max 3 mins) which will be posted on our social media in the run up to the night. Individual and group acts welcomed! There will be a public vote to decide the final shortlist of 10 acts who will be invited to perform live (over Zoom) to an adoring public and a judging panel.

The Judges

Jayden Ali

Jayden Ali is the founding director of interdisciplinary practice JA Projects and works at the intersection of architecture, urban strategy, art and performance - directly engaging with contemporary society on projects that are participatory and empowering. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at Central Saint Martins, where he co-leads the MArch Architecture course while also, alongside Theatrum Mundi, teaching a studio that assists students in using performance as a tool to explore aspects of culture within the city. Jayden's secret talent is pole-vaulting. 

Catherine Slessor

Catherine Slessor is an architecture writer, critic and former editor of The Architectural Review and a contributor to Dezeen and Architects' Journal. Cath's secret talent is her starring role as the Witch in a school production of Engelbert Humperdinck's classic 19th century opera Hansel and Gretel.

Peter Adjaye

Peter Adjaye aka AJ Kwame is a contemporary conceptual sound artist, specialising in cross-disciplinary collaborations. Music for Architecture is an original concept by Peter Adjaye that hopes to draw exploratory dialogue, experimentation and shared aesthetics and mathematics between music and architecture. It seeks to re-establish this possibility for a relationship between the experience of a building and a contemporaneous musical journey. Peter's secret talent is the period of time he spent in a rock band back in the day.

Daisy Froud

Daisy Froud is a strategist specialising in brief-development, community engagement and participatory design. She co-founded AOC. She devises tools and processes that enable diverse voices to meaningfully contribute to design decision-making, and to shaping the future of places and spaces in intelligent, imaginative and equitable ways. Daisy's secret talent is taking Tarot card readings and winning karaoke competitions with Dolly Parton's celebrated hit 9 to 5.
