Thamesmead Urban Pioneers’ Film - Living at Thamesmead

Forty years after The Greater London Council's ‘Living at Thamesmead’ promotional film, and as the area undergoes dramatic urban change, the AF works with a group of local young people aged 17-19 to consider what it really means living at Thamesmead today. Over October 2014 the group collaborated with architects, artists and socio-cultural theorists to explore the architecture — its community, spaces and sounds. As commentary on the original 1974 film, the short film was made from material gathered during the group’s investigation. It has been launched to the public this month and made available on The AF website.
