First New Window on Willesden Green Revealed

The New Windows on Willesden Green project was officially launched today (1st December) with the window of the project’s Pilot Shop revealed. The Las Vegas inspired light installation, by designer Kieren Jones, spells out ‘Willesden’ in bright letters, adding some romance to what had previously been a vacant shop.

This project, delivered in collaboration by The Architecture Foundation, sees designers, architects and creatives working with local shopkeepers to create an animated festive advent calendar of shopfront improvements along Willesden High Road, aiming to bring positive long-term change and adding sparkle to the area.  The twenty-five local shops taking part have been paired with a variety of emerging designers in order to reveal a new Window on Willesden each day of December.  Each designer has been tasked with creating an inspiring window in time for Christmas and offering legacy improvements to their prospective shops.

Don't miss your chance to see all the window displays complete at the New Windows on Willesden Green: Events Weekend a celebratory series of public events held on 17-18 December, including treasure hunts, designer workshops and a chance for visitors to enjoy seasonal mulled wine and mince pies as they explore the area.
