European Prize for Urban Public Space

The Architecture Foundation hosted the UK launch of the European Prize for Urban Public Space on 25 November.

At the event in The AF Project Space, Judit Carrera, Prize director, issued the call for entries, Liza Fior of muf architecture/art presented their 2008 prize winning Barking Town Square scheme and designer Jurgen Bey showcased public space interventions by his Royal College of Art Students. This was followed by a discussion on the state of the UK’s public urban space in which the speakers were joined by Design for London’s Mark Brearley and Joint Chief Executive of Argent PLC, David Partridge. Chaired by Sarah Gaventa, Director of CABE Space.

The Architecture Foundation is the London partner for the European-wide prize. Deadline for submissions is 29 January 2010.
