Having founded his practice in London in 1985, Sir David Chipperfield has realised more than 100 buildings across the world. 

Recently completed projects include the James Simon Galerie on Berlin's Museum Island and the refurbishment of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In 2010 he was knighted for services to architecture in the UK and Germany and the following year received the RIBA Royal Gold Medal for Architecture.
