More Than A Building? Architecture on Trial: Stirling and Gowan's Leicester Engineering Building

By Joseph Bedford and vPPR Architects
More Than A Building? Architecture on Trial is a self-published catalogue that compliments the exhibition held at The Architecture Foundation in Spring 2011.
The catalogue, edited by Jaffer Kolb with exhibition curator Joseph Bedford, features a collection of essays, photographs, drawings and interviews, investigating and critically reviewing Stirling and Gowan's celebrated 1963 Leicester University Engineering Building. Contributors include Kenneth Frampton, Irénée Scalbert, Michael Wilford and James Gowan.
Placing the Engineering Building on trial, More Than provides both a portrait of the building through a wide array of critics, users and participants in its realisation, alongside an exploration of the differences between architecture as a discourse and media subject, and a built reality.
Books are priced at £15+ P&P
