Cooperative Designs
Fri 21 - Sat 22 October 2011Knitwear brand and design duo Cooperative Designs (Annalisa Dunn and
Dorothee Hagemann) took over Just the Flip Side of the Wall for a night and a day, with an installation of their graphic knits inspired by industrial landscapes. All the items within the installation were for sale, and were subsequently removed from the work once sold.
Full of graphic resonances, shared references and spatial play, Cooperative Designs A/W 2011 Collection was housed within the Post Works installation, as the practice's architectural characters and props became hangers and frames for 24 hours, in a further exploration of the transformation of the two-dimensional into the third.
Knitwear label, Cooperative Designs' aesthetic is a graphic and modern celebration of knitwear, subverted with a mixture of traditional and experimental knit techniques. Having met at Central St Martins in 2007, Cooperative Designs have exhibited through a combination of mixed media and staged catwalk shows at Milan & London Fashion Weeks, alongside working on numerous design projects and collaborations with leading brands Stefanel, Dolce e Gabbanna & Hussein Chalayan.
