New Architects: Portugal_UK
October 2010 - present
The Architecture Foundation, Ordem dos
Arquitectos and British Council have developed an exchange programme
between the UK and Portugal for 2010-2011. This follows on from
successful Architecture Foundation exchange projects in the USA, Italy, Turkey (with current exchanges underway with Poland
and Norway).
The aim of this partnership is to identify, exchange and promote the best new architects from countries around the world through developing networks, dialogue and cultural exchange that allow for the sharing of information, ideas and new thinking.
Through an open submission process, the partners identified three exciting emerging architects in both the UK
and Portugal, who act as ambassadors for the architectural scenes
in their respective countries, taking part in reciprocal programmes to
each country with a schedule of coordinated activities including public
lectures, studio visits and site tours.
