London_Istanbul
London_Istanbul is an international exchange programme that seeks to identify new architectural talent in both London and Istanbul, delivered by The Architecture Foundation in collaboration with Istanbul partners Arkitera Architecture Center and Garanti Gallery. Centring on six emerging practices - three from each city - the reciprocal exchange consists of studio visits, site tours, workshops and public talks.
Arkitera Architecture Center, founded in 2000, is an independent architecture center that has been dedicated to sustain a better architectural practice, enhance the architectural culture and to raise the architectural quality in Turkey. Since its establishment, the Arkitera Architecture Center became a central communication platform for debates, discussions and dialogs for architecture and urbanism issues thanks to hundreds of conferences, panels and exhibitions organized.
Garanti Gallery,
founded in 2003, specializes in contemporary architecture, urbanism and design
of all fields. Through its diverse programmes like exhibitions, workshops,
lectures and also with its publications, archive (Architecture and Design
Archive Turkey) and library GG aims to contribute to a better understanding of
built environment.
