Glowacka Rennie Architects was established in 2004 after winning an EEDA/RIBA design competition with the project 'East Reef' - a new coastal beach destination and the UK's first tropical offshore dive centre. The marine theme has followed the two founding female directors with recent projects, including a 21st century pier and tidal lido at Jaywick, Essex; a new cafe at the end of Deal Pier in Kent; and designs for Norway's first Wetland Centre on the Dokka Delta; and a canal crossing for Urban Splash's New Islington development, all designed with a trademark ambition and flair.
