Winter Nights 2006: Block Architecture

1 February 2006
  • Magasin3 Gallery, Stockholm

The ICA bar, Modern Art Oxford and the Grand Central bar in London are just some of Block Architecture’s completed projects. The practice’s attention to detail has earned it the Blueprint Sessions’ Interior Designer of the Year award in 2005.

Block Architecture was formed in 2002 as the result of a successful four year partnership between Graeme Williamson and Zoe smith. Their work has been innovative and covered a broad spectrum of typologies and scale, with award winning work in the arts, residential, commercial and education projects all of which aim to challenge normative practices in architecture and spatial design. Their arts sector commissions have included work for the V&A Museum, Magasin3 Gallery in Stockholm and Modern Art Oxford in addition to a vast range of bespoke and mixed-use residential developments, retail developments for Hussein Chalayan and Virgin Atlantic.
