Foyer Competition: An International Competition for Britain’s First New–Build Foyer
1 September 1992 - 1 March 1993To celebrate its twentieth birthday, Shelter, the charity for the homeless, asked the AF to coordinate an international design competition for young architects to design Britain’s first new–build Foyer, a transitional centre for homeless youth.
The winning design for the £2.5 million Foyer by Ian Simpson Associates was subsequently built in Birmingham and opened for business in 1998.
