The Architecture Foundation, working in collaboration with the South Kilburn Neighbourhood Trust, has appointed up-and-coming young designers Practice Architecture to create an active new community space in South Kilburn, northwest London.
The LDA backed Bankside Urban Forest initiative continues it's urban realm improvements of the area stretching from the Thames at Southbank, as far as Elephant and Castle, with the transformation of Flat Iron Square.
The latest education programme from the Architecture Foundation is now underway in Barking. The six Barking Urban Pioneers will collaborate with a range of creative professionals including architects, oral historians, photographers, filmmakers, and artists, to create a body of work exploring the regeneration of this dynamic area of London.
The Architecture Foundation is currently looking for an intern to assist with the work carried out by the Development Manager and Office Manager. Within this role, candidates will have the opportunity to learn about the development functions carried out by The AF as well as the everyday running of the organisation.
The Architecture Foundation has been contracted by the Iris Foundation to organise an invitation-only competition to generate design ideas for the future development of the site of New Holland Island in St Petersburg and the preservation of its architectural heritage.
Archeworks (Chicago), the Center for Land Use Interpretation (Los Angeles) and the Center for Urban Pedagogy (Brooklyn) are to visit London as part of the AF's Critical Infrastructures programme launching this February.
