"International Architecture Centres" is the first significant directory of architecture centres in Europe and North America It is published as a result of 'The Value of Architecture Centres' conference hosted in the UK in June 2002. Public interest in architecture has increased significantly in the past few years. This, combined with social developments of increased awareness of the need for democracy, the role of the citizen and the need for public participation, has stimulated the development of architecture centres around the world. Each has a different ethos and focus but they all overlap in their aim to provide education and information about architecture at all levels.

This book, "International Architecture Centres", acts as a reference for the centres and as a guide to the role of such centres in the ongoing debate on urban renaissance. It includes case studies of three centres and contributions from key commentators, including: Charles Landry (Comedia), Joe Kerr (Royal College of Art), Ben Rogers (Institute of Public Policy Research), Janice Kirkpatrick (Graven Images) and Tom Dyckhoff (The Times).
