While studying at the Bartlett, Matthew Springett won a RIBA silver medal for his design for an urban pig farm in Lower Manhattan. Since graduating he has put pigs aside to complete numerous built projects in both the residential and commercial sectors, ranging from a hydrotherapy pool for children with learning disabilities to the very cool headquarters for St Luke’s Communications, an advertising agency. Springett maintains an involvement in education, acting as a design tutor at the Bartlett, that he believes is fundamental to both his and the practice's attitude in challenging design conventions.

Glowacka Rennie Architects

(doors open 6.30pm)

Glowacka Rennie Architects was established in 2004 after winning an EEDA/RIBA design competition with the project ‘East Reef’ - a new coastal beach destination and the UK’s first tropical offshore dive centre. The marine theme has followed the two founding female directors with recent projects, including a 21st century pier and tidal lido at Jaywick, Essex; a new cafe at the end of Deal Pier in Kent; and designs for Norway’s first Wetland Centre on the Dokka Delta; and a canal crossing for Urban Splash’s New Islington development, all designed with a trademark ambition and flare.

voonwong & bensonsaw is a London-based practice working in architecture, interior and product design. Their work is characterised by strong, clean surfaces that could be seen as minimalist, yet combines the sensual influence of natural form. The practice has completed more than 70 architectural and interior projects in Europe, Asia and Australia. The scope of projects ranges from retail outlets, offices, nightclubs and corporate entertainment venues to residential schemes.

Dow Jones Architects

(doors open 6.30pm)

One of Dow Jones’ most recent accolades was winning The Architecture Foundation-advised design competition to create a new exhibition space for the Museum of Garden History. They seek to create contextual, intellectual designs that avoid mere surface style, something that has been successfully carried over from their academic teaching to a large portfolio of residential commissions.
