speaker: David Adjaye, Principal, Adjaye/Associates
chair: Dr Andrea Phillips, Director, Curating Architecture and Assistant Director of Curating, Department of Visual Arts, Goldsmiths

The practice’s first public commission in the United States, the design is based on the concept that the building must ‘support rather than define the museum’s mission’. Subsequently, it follows a European kunsthalle format with plenty of break out spaces of various heights on four generous storeys, comprising 20,000 square feet of galleries, education and lecture spaces, a bookshop, and a roof-garden for a dedicated outdoor art programme.
