Tonkin Liu A promenade in between the trees Public space is successful if it invites people to dwell. We want to slow down the hectic pace of Old Street and provide it with a piece of street culture, taking over the ancient idea of the promenade. The promenade is designed as a strip, with both ends taken up to create space for a flower shop and a café underneath. We will complete the existing rows of trees with new ones
and replace the existing grass with paving. New street furniture will invite people to sit down and rest.
